Ladies, if I could wave a magic wand or have you in the back of the Barbie van, I’d remove the eons of stories that you have about “needing a man” in such a way that you ignore the H*ll out the obvious traits they have and only focus on the tiny crumbs of what they do that makes you happy. It’s tunnel vision at its finest. It’s the epitome of selective seeing.
This phenomenon isn’t confined to any one place; it’s a global narrative. Buried deep within our collective psyche is the belief that focusing on the positive will somehow inspire him to change for the better. That is only partly true.
I’m aware this might trigger some men. That’s okay. Stay with me till the end.
Yes, there are many aspects of life where men’s presence is invaluable, but not to the point where we mutate ourselves in an effort to keep them. Reflect on that for a moment! Read it again!
This self-compromise leads them to believe that minimal effort is sufficient and that they don’t need to evolve within the relationship because we are satisfied with changing ourselves to what they want.
